How to Add a Group in Ultimate WP SMS

Add New Group

Ultimate WP SMS Plugin allows you to manage your SMS communications efficiently. Adding groups is a crucial feature for organizing contacts. Follow the steps below to add a group:

Step 1: Access the Ultimate WP SMS Plugin

Log in to your WordPress dashboard.


Navigate to the plugin: On the left-hand sidebar, find and click on “Ultimate WP SMS”.

Step 2: Navigate to Group Manager Tab

In the Ultimate WP SMS dashboard, locate the “Group Manager” section. This is typically found in the plugin’s main menu.

Step 3: Add a New Group

Click on “Add New Group”: You will find this button at the top of the Groups page.
Enter Group Details:
  • Group Name: Provide a meaningful name for your group.
  • Description (optional): Add a brief description to help identify the purpose of the group.
Step 4: Save the Group
  1. After entering the required details, click the “Save” button. Your new group will now be added to the list of available groups.

Step 5: Verify the Group

  1. Once saved, you will be redirected to the Groups list where you can see the newly created group.
  2. Confirm details: Ensure that the group name and description are correct.

A default group is created for you when the UWS plugin is first installed. This and all other groups you’ve created will be shown in a list like below. 

There are a number of group actions shown next to each group listed:

Add Group Member button, will open up the member list sidebar and allowing you to add single or multiple new members to the specific group.
Group Shortcode button, allows you to access a group shortcode form settings.
will open up the “Group Invite” sidebar, showing the settings for group member invitation, notifications, and welcome message.

Deletes the group and all of its members.

Downloads the members of this group into a CSV file.

will open the “Send Message” tab to create message, selecting only the members of this group. Useful if you have many large groups.

Tips for Managing Groups
  • Naming Conventions: Use clear and descriptive names for your groups to easily identify them later.
  • Regular Updates: Periodically review and update group memberships to ensure accurate targeting for your SMS campaigns.

  • Group Not Visible: If the new group doesn’t appear, refresh your browser or check for any plugin updates.
