Ultimate WP SMS allows you to automatically add users to a group when they send a specific keyword or phrase via SMS. This guide will walk you through the setup process and explain the additional customization options available for tailoring the user experience.

🔧 Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Navigate to the Groups Section

From your WordPress dashboard sidebar, go to:

Ultimate WP SMS → Groups

Here, you’ll see a list of all the SMS groups you’ve created.

Step 2: Open Opt-In Settings for a Group

Each group card displays a row of icons at the top.
Click on the envelope icon () to access the opt-in settings for that group.

A popup will appear, allowing you to configure keyword-based subscription.

Step 3: Enter Subscription Keyword or Phrase

Inside the popup, find the field labeled:

"Subscription keyword or phrase"

Enter a keyword (e.g., JOIN, INFO, EVENTS) or phrase that users can text to subscribe to this group.

Example:
If you use JOINCLUB as the keyword, any user who sends an SMS with the text JOINCLUB will be automatically added to the group.

Step 4: Automatic Subscription Behavior

After setting the keyword:

  • The system will monitor incoming SMS messages,

  • If a message matches your keyword or phrase,

  • The sender’s number will be automatically added to the selected group.

No manual work is required for each subscriber.
